November eSEL Calendar

Novembers Theme: Growing Gratitude

Part of expanding self-awareness and social-awareness (two critical SEL skills!) is practicing gratitude. As educators, let’s intentionally give students rich opportunities to dig into appreciation and thankfulness!

Our Calendar of SEL Activities

We've assembled a diverse and engaging calendar of SEL activities for the entire month. These activities are thoughtfully designed to encourage empathy, effective communication, and collaboration. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect:

Weekly Learning Intentions:

Week 1: Empathy

I can say what it feels like to be bullied.

Week 2: Simple Gratitude

I can think of one thing I am thankful for every day.

Week 3: Gratitude as Access to Calm

I can think of things I am thankful for as a way to help myself calm down.

Week 4: Understanding Perspective

I can say how being thanked and NOT being thanked makes others feel.

Week 5: Building Relationships

I can build kind relationships with my classmates by appreciating them.

Just click the activity!

All of the Planners are CLICKABLE to take you straight into the activities and national days! The calendars share a monthly theme, and activities within the two clickable calendars are specially catered to that age range. If you want to specify for your student grade further, click on the correct grade level variation within the activity! We also encourage you to explore our “Variations” offered within individual Kikori activities.

How does reflection help our students grow?

Completing reflections has huge benefits for your students, including increasing self-awareness (critical for emotional intelligence!) and in developing a better understanding of others. Reflective practice helps students cultivate creative thinking skills and helps them connect more deeply to the activities they participated in. This is why reflection is a core part of EVERY Kikori activity.

How to Use Your Monthly eSEL Calendar:

As always, our eSEL Calendar provides you with daily experiential social emotional learning (eSEL) activities that you can facilitate with your students. Here’s what that looks like:

  • Start your day with a Morning Message or Advisory Announcement

  • Practice those ever-important social skills with Greeting Activity

  • Encourage connection with a Sharing or Acknowledging Activity

  • Facilitate an interactive National Day Activity (i.e. Pretend to be a Time Traveler Day, National Ice Cream Day, etc.)

  • Flex essential muscles with our Day-of-the-Week Activities for Mindful Monday, Together Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday and Fun Friday

Are you looking to help your students build critical social emotional skills? Each of Kikori's activities are aligned to CASEL Social Emotional Learning Standards, 21st Century Skills and Sustainable Development Skills!
